Having your maternity photo session at home is perfect for mothers to be who love their home comforts - it's a more relaxing and private environment, especially suited for those gorgeous intimate bedroom shots. It's also great for partners who may feel a tad awkward in a studio environment, and for mothers who have other children. At home they can play until it's their turn to kiss the bump and snuggle up with you.
During your session I will help you to feel relaxed by talking to you about your new arrival and gently guide you into natural poses. There will be time to change outfit a few times, perhaps starting in pj's, then a casual outfit and finishing in something more glamorous. For some shots with your partner, I will prompt you into natural interactions that show your love and affection for each other. I have a small collection of maternity dresses and a sheer robe available for you to wear. I also bring my portable studio lighting so don't worry that your home may be too dark.
An at-home session includes 40+ edited, high-resolution digital images for downloading, with full printing rights, presented in an online gallery you can share with family. Start the booking process by arranging a consultation phone call.
I visit couples homes in Stoke Newington, Hackney, Islington and the wider north London area. Please do reach out if you are a bit further away and we can see if it's possible. Any parking and congestion charges for central London are charged as extra.

HOW IT WORKS. . .
Where and When
I offer Hackney maternity photography sessions at my studio in Stoke Newington, North London, or at your home, bringing my professional lighting with me or we can meet at a local park or nature reserve for some outdoor maternity photography. The best time to do your photoshoot is around seven to eight months pregnant, so that your bump is clearly visible but you still have plenty of energy to have lots of fun on your shoot. I'm available to discuss your options on a no-obligation consultation call.
What to wear
I have a small selection of maternity dresses and open fronted silk and see-through slips you may like to borrow (all freshly laundered) and of course please do bring your own clothes as well. Dresses, maternity underwear, buttoned shirts in plain white or another plain colour with maternity jeans are all good. We can discuss on a consultation what you would like to wear (or not!) and if there are any particular images you've seen on my website or Pinterest, that you'd like to try.
Getting to the studio
My studio is near Clissold Park, just off Stoke Newington Church Street, and has free on-site parking. By public transport it's a 15 - 20 minute walk from Arsenal Underground or Canonbury Station, It's also on several bus routes from Manor House and Angel underground stations.
Studio maternity photoshoots
My studio is a welcoming place with wall art, music, sofa, coffee machine and a bathroom with mirror for make-up touch ups and changing your outfit. We can use a few different light and dark backgrounds and lighting set-ups during your shoot, and you may change into a few different outfits to create a variety of images for your gallery. Come with your partner, a friend or on your own.
Selecting and purchasing images after your studio session
During the two weeks after your studio session, the best 40+ images will edited and presented in a digital online gallery via email link. From the comfort of home with no hard sell, choose a package of prints and digital images to download in high-resolution and select your included prints, delivered directly to you. You can also order mounting and framing through the gallery.

How to book
After we have agreed a date and time, I'll email over an invoice with my bank details for payment of the £100 non- refundable booking fee. It is possible to reschedule your booking (with 24 hours or more notice), so not to lose your booking fee. I only book one or two clients on a shoot day.

OUTDOOR MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY

Having an outdoor maternity photoshoot in Hackney is fabulous because there are so many places to choose from. I personally love Clissold park in Stoke Newington for the variety of trees, long grass in summer and fallen logs to sit on. There's also a shady woodland trail on the northern boundary. Another good location is Springfield park, in Clapton E8 with its large trees, newly renovated cafe, wide open spaces and views out over the river Lee with it's many barges. From there it's only a short walk down onto Walthamstow wetlands.
Further south there's Hackney Marshes and Hackney Wick for a more urban feel with its amazing collection of graffiti and old warehouse's. Another favourite place to go for an outdoor maternity photoshoot is Victoria Park for its sheer variety of trees, with epic amounts of falling leaves in autumn and the lovely cafe and ponds.
I will be checking the Met weather forecast in the run up to your booking and if the weather looks too wet, we can either reschedule to another date or switch to doing your shoot in the studio or at your home.

COVID-SECURE PRACTICE
The studio will be cleaned before and after each client and all door handles, tables and items you are likely to contact with will be cleaned with antibacterial solution and I will provide and use hand sanitizer.
If you have been in contact with anyone with a cough or fever, or if you feel unwell (even mildly) before your session, please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule. If you become unwell within seven days after your session, please let me know immediately, even if you feel it is only mild.
