There is something magical about meeting parents with their newborns when they visit my studio.
Often it's their very first outing and the mother is so excited to be out, maybe wearing a little make-up and her hair done nicely.

It's such a wonderful but challenging time and I'm here to help you look your best, feel relaxed and calm your baby so we can enjoy creating some wonderful, lasting memories of your precious first few weeks together.

NEWBORN STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY


I offer stylish and affordable newborn and family photography, in my own live/work studio with off street parking, next to Clissold park, in Stoke Newington, Hackney.


I've been a full-time studio and location family portrait photographer for twenty five years, having arrived in the area as a BA Photography graduate. I'm a mother of two girls, who are now teenagers and I'm very experienced handling newborn babies.


To book, I require a £100 booking fee to secure a flexible date, two-hour studio session within two weeks of the birth, or an actual date if they are already born. It is best to do the session in the first two weeks when your baby is still very sleepy, but if that time has passed please call for a chat about the possibilities for a session with an older baby - it's still possible!


Using professional studio lighting and backgrounds, I create stylish newborn images of your baby using carefully chosen fabrics, wraps and an antique wooden dough bowl.

I can also create images of your baby in a more minimalist style with some gently draped fabric over the nappy area, on a special beanbag with plain fabric or black background. These look great in monochrom. You can choose to do one or both of these styles.


There will also be the opportunity to do some natural-style family portraiture on a white or black background, edited in both monochrome and colour and I can help advise what to wear. Have a look at my portfolio for examples.


Siblings are also welcome to come along for some shots with their new baby brother or sister and some family portraiture of you all together before whizzing off to Clissold park with dad, which is only five minutes away on foot, whilst we do the newborn photography in a calm quiet atmosphere.


I have a huge sofa, lots of tea and a new bean-to-cup coffee machine so come and relax whilst I take gorgeous shots of you and your new baby. Just bring yourselves, a pile of nappies, tons of wipes and plenty of milk. . .oh and you can park right outside.

COVID-SECURE PRACTICE

The studio will be cleaned before and after each client and all door handles, tables and items you are likely to contact with will be cleaned with antibacterial solution and I will provide and use hand sanitizer. Masks are no longer a government requirement, but I'm happy to wear one if requested.

If you have been in contact with anyone with a cough or fever, or if you feel unwell (even mildly) before your session, please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule. If you become unwell within seven days after your session, please let me know immediately, even if you feel it is only mild.
