Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photographer

The Grade II-listed town hall on Marylebone Road has soaring ceilings, magnificent marble staircases and corridors, ornate period detailing, and a genuine sense of occasion that very few buildings in London can match. Out front, the broad stone steps flanked by stone lions and framed by Corinthian columns make for some of the most extraordinary confetti and couple shots in the city.

I have photographed many weddings at Old Marylebone Town Hall and I would happily photograph many more.

My approach on the day

I arrive early, prepare my equipment, check the light, and then I'm ready for everyone to arrive.

My approach is a mix of candid visual storytelling whereby I capture genuine moments as they unfold, but I also give small amounts of gentle direction for natural looking stylish portraiture. I believe it's important to provide both styles of images for weddings, so you get the unseen moments of the day and also more polished portraiture that is suitable for framing on the wall. I shoot mainly with daylight although fill-in flash will sometimes be used where the light requires it.

The exterior, the marble, and why wet weather is no problem

The front of Old Marylebone Town Hall is genuinely one of the best spots in London for couple and confetti shots. The broad stone steps, the stone lions on either side, and the Corinthian columns behind you create a backdrop that is grand without being overwhelming. Even on a busy Marylebone Road, it photographs beautifully. Inside, the marble staircases and corridors are just as remarkable, which means that for autumn and winter weddings, or any day when the weather does not cooperate, there are stunning interior options that most venues simply cannot offer.

It is also worth knowing that Park Crescent is about a five-minute black cab ride away. Designed by John Nash, it is one of London's most iconic architectural set pieces: a sweeping semi-circle of stuccoed Regency terraced houses sitting opposite the entrance to Regent's Park. For couple portraits, it is exceptional. Many of London's most celebrated weddings have been photographed there, and it is one of those locations that looks extraordinary in photographs regardless of the season.

This is one of the most in-demand venue photography pages right now, and I am well placed to serve couples looking for a photographer who actually knows the building. Couples are increasingly drawn to it not just for the convenience of a central London registry office, but for the genuine prestige and beauty of the building itself.

How busy is it at Old Marylebone Town Hall in peak season?

Slots can be fully-booked, particularly on Saturdays. The team at the town hall are very professional and will keep each ceremony running on time, with every couple getting some exclusive time on the steps for couple shots with the columns and confetti throwing, after the ceremony. On particularly busy days, you may be asked to move to one side and do your group shots in front of the magnificent lions, which I actually think looks even better.
